The Grand Classic event first held in January 2009 was again held on Saturday 2nd January 2010. Cosmo Pairs During the Spring - Summer -Autumn pennant season we provide a cosmo pairs competition (two games of 12 ends each) each Friday. Cosmo means pairs can consist of two male, two female, or mixed. Names need to be in by 11.00 a.m. (at latest) on the day (by 10.30 is ideal and generally will ensure you get a game), and then the game starts at 12.30 p.m. Single entries are OK; we will endeavour to find a partner. Mufti (casual dress) only is needed for attire. These are fun games, though competitive, with prize money. We attract players from many other clubs as well as Lockleys. All are welcome, and the fees currently remain at $5 a player, with about half of that going into prize money. The club's telephone number is 8443 6798. Ring to ask for your name to be added to the list, or write it in yourself if at the club. Lockleys won one pennant in season 2008-2009, Thursday Premier 2 South, and so gained promotion to Premier One, the top division in 2009-2010. Lockleys also won the Men's Best of the West competition from West Lakes, Henley and Grange, for the second year in succession. We provide proper meals on Thursday nights at a cost of $9 per meal, plus $2 for sweets. You don't have to be a member to come for a meal, but we do need to know numbers by Tuesday afternoon to assist in catering orders. |
